Your host for the 2014 Day of Inspiration is Australia’s favourite sports guy, from CH7 Sunrise Mark Beretta. In former years Mark was a 10 time Australian Water Ski champion, hosted the coverage of the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games, Nagano Olympic Winter Games, Salt Lake City Olympic Winter Games, and 2002 Manchester Commonwealth Games. He has also commentated at all of the recent Olympic Games, and Commonwealth Games. In addition to being a regular on the Ch7 coverage of the V8 Supercars, Mark hosted Seven's coverage of the 2013 Australian Open.

The 2014 Day of Inspiration will be started by a very special opening keynote by celebrated Sydney surgeon Dr Charles Teo. Charlie Teo attracts patients from all over the world because of his radical approach to brain cancer. Charismatic and controversial, the 46-year-old doctor is one of the leading brain surgeons in the world. Recently named by the people of Australia as our most trusted person, Charlie has a growing international reputation for doing radical surgery on tumours that other neurosurgeons consider inoperable.
Patients come to him from all over Australia, New Zealand, the United States, Britain, South-East Asia and many other countries. His long-term goal is to find a genetic molecular explanation - and cure - for brain tumours. One of our countries most inspiring and requested speakers, we are delighted to announce Charlie as one of our keynote speakers for this years event.
Ultra marathon athlete
After his eldest daughter was diagnosed with cancer in 1997, Craig has been on a marathon mission to raise funds and awareness for children’s cancer foundations. Most people have problems getting their heads around running a 42.6km marathon. Craig Goozee has pushed beyond this and has now completed three ultra-marathons since 1998. He completed a 16 day grueling ocean paddle from Avalon Beach in Sydney to Broadbeach in Queensland. Then in 2000, Craig set off from Albany, Western Australia, to run, cycle and paddle across the continent. Covering over 5000km’s, he completed the epic journey in 34 days. In 2009, the ultimate challenge was completed with a 91 day ultra- marathon around Australia. Craig averaged 150km’s each day to finish the journey which is equivalent to doing a half iron man event every day. Paul De Gelder
Former Australian Navy Diver
In the Australian Army as a young Paratrooper Paul De Gelder chased adventure wherever he could find it. But trouble hunted him down in the form of a brutal shark in February 2009 in Sydney Harbour. Paul lost two limbs, and his career as a daredevil Navy Clearance Diver was flung into jeopardy.
Drawing on everything his eventful life had taught him, Paul left nothing to chance in his recovery. He fought through excruciating pain, smashing challenge after challenge, and amazing the medical staff with his will to succeed. His inspiring story takes ‘never say die’ to a whole new level.
In the five years since the shark attack, Paul's life has changed in every aspect. Having left full time Navy Service in August 2012, after continuing to instruct Navy Divers for a further 3.5 years, Paul has travelled the world as a top motivational speaker, passionate environmentalist, adventurer and mentor to school kids.
He has spoken at venues all around the world, from the United Nations in New York and the US Navy in San Diego. Just recently, he starred as a guest trainer on the Biggest Loser Australia An amazing man, an amazing story. Paul will simply inspire you.

He currently does around 2-3 regular TV crosses a day, ad hoc radio and newspaper interviews and writes regular commentaries as well as presenting to staff, clients and external organisations. Many Australians wake up to their economic update with Craig James on Ch7 Sunrise with David Koch. Craig and Kochie will join forces on the Day of Inspiration stage to give the audience an economic update, discussing where we are... and most importantly where is the ecomomy likely to be going.
Jamil Yamani and Louisa Dawson
He has worked on many large-scale events and permanent lighting projection installations including the opening and closing ceremonies of the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics, The Venetian Hotel, Las Vegas, Singapore National Day Parade, Chinese New Year, Sydney and Sydney’s own annual Christmas Lights, on Sydney Town Hall and St Marys Cathedral. Now with Project Light, Jamil has teamed up with Louisa Dawson as they have shared interest in public space, art, architecture and public illumination. Jamil has worked for over five years in large-scale architectural projection and stadium events. At this years Day of Inspiration Jamil and Louisa will shine the light on the event to present something very special, very creative and very insightful.
